Clarksons, National Champions

Clarksons have won a medal in the South African National Rowing Championships in Johannesburg, which took place in April. Having gained a second place in the double scull event and another second in the coxless fours, against stiff opposition Clarksons sculled through a university crew in the final of the men’s quadruple sculls over 1,000 metres to win by a second. Behind their success is the recruitment of two accomplished oarsmen among a number of recent trainees. Their enthusiasm spread throughout the office, serious training got under way, and a creditable result in recent regional championships has now been crowned by success nationally.
