Challenging Introduction

For one Clarksons broker, this year’s summer holiday will be sun and sand but without the sea. Instead of a week on a Greek island, 26 year old Charles Dixey of the Dry Cargo Division will be visiting the Gobi Desert and aiming to run six marathons in six days. He and three school friends decided to introduce an element of challenge into their lives that would be a little different from the London Marathon. The Gobi Marathon China starts on 27^th June; daily distances vary from 12 to 56 miles, totaling 155 miles in all, in temperatures ranging from 20 to 40 degrees C, and about 150 competitors are expected to take part. Charles and his friends hope to raise at least £20,000 for charity.
