Clarksons offer a number of services at various UK ports, encompassing ship's agency, customs clearance, stevedoring and warehousing. All activities are supervised by an extremely experienced management team and are implemented by reliable staff.
Ship's agency services are provided at all UK ports between the Wash Bay and the River Mersey from offices in Bristol, Great Yarmouth, Ipswich, Liverpool, Southampton and Tilbury. The types of vessels handled are varied and include bulk carriers (for grain, animal feed and coal), car carriers, chemical tankers, gas carriers and support craft for the offshore industry. Services provided range from procuring tugs and pilots to providing fendering for ship to ship transfers.
Clarksons' stevedoring and warehousing services are concentrated in the ports of Great Yarmouth and Ipswich and primarily involve the import and export of animal feed, grains and bio-mass to and from Scandinavia, the near Continent and the Iberian Peninsula. The work entails vessel loading and discharging, transit between ship and store, weighing and cargo analysis. At Ipswich, Clarksons have their own GAFTA/UKASTA approved stores extending to some 150,000 square feet.
